One Computer…No Problem

It’s pretty easy to get caught up in the “If I had (insert cool techie tool here), I would (insert awesome plan for prior mentioned techie tool)” mentality.  How about if you just start with what you have and run with it!  Ok, don’t literally run…most techie tools can be broken:)

During my teaching experience I have had to “start over” three times and each of these times involved me starting with one computer and my wild imagination.  With just your phone and some free paper printouts for each student, you can instantly assess anything you can dream up (in multiple choice or T/F format)!  How? Just take a look at Plicker to learn about their FREE easy app you can install on your phone to literally scan your class while standing in front of the room by panning the room with your camera!  On the flip side of this app, for those that have technology (or a BYOD district/school), check out Poll Everywhere for even more options such as free form responses.
