Google Forms seems self-explanatory; it is a way to create digital forms, but it is SO much more!  Sure you can replace your traditional forms such as a reading log or parent survey, but what else?

I am SO glad you asked!  Lets first look at a few additional features you wouldn’t have with traditional paper forms (or wouldn’t have without extra work for you):
Colorful graphics without printer ink
Embed videos, website links, etc
Instant graphing of results
Live responses
Individual and summary of responses
Differentiate options
Instant grading of assessments
and much more such as add-ons!

There are a variety of question types available including short answer, paragraph, multiple choice, checkboxes, drop down, linear scale, and multiple choice grid.  With all these options, your brain is already coming up with ideas, right?  Here is a brainstorm of ideas for integrating Google Forms into your classroom:

Google Forms Add-ons

There is a magic puzzle piece located on the top right which opens the world of add-ons! As the name suggests, this gives you the ability to add things to your form such as the ability to eliminate a choice once it is selected or insert complex equations.

Choice Eliminator This add-on is just as the title suggests.  You are able to eliminate a choice after it is selected.  Maybe you are scheduling parent-teacher conferences.  With this added to your form, no one will be able to select a particular date/time after selected, because it will disappear from the choices.  Learn more here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo81552-cBQ
Docs to Forms Okay, this one is actually for Google Docs, but if you are tinkering with Google Forms, you MUST know about this awesomeness!  You probably already have a variety of tests typed and saved on your computer, or maybe a whole database from a textbook publisher.  With Docs to Forms, you are able to open existing files in Google Docs and instantly convert to a Google Form.  Learn more here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTn89etQhV0
